A Kick in the Head PART ONE

The owner of The Meeting Place told me : "After tonights movie. You are not welcome here," Roberto said "My regulars don't like movie night. They like to hear music and talk. Last week, you told one of my regulars to be quiet."
"We were showing a movie. He was drunk and screaming", I replied.
"But he was a regular."
"You only had 5 people at the bar."
"The regulars are afraid to come on movie night."
"What regulars!?"
"It's just not working out. You can show up next week or tonight can be your last night. I'll leave it open for you. I am sorry." I was dumbfounded. We've only been there for a month and on movie night almost every table had a WPFS person sitting behind it. The bar had about 7 regulars.

A Divine Appreciation Night

How 'bout that! Our last screening for the 2008 year and we're ending it with one of our favorite characters, Divine.
The entire night will be dedicated to the the John Waters' Ensemble, even though 'Lust in the Dust' was not directed by
Mr Waters. It does star two of his other peeps, Tab Hunter and Divine. We will be also screening before the show,'The Dianne
Linkletter Story'
, written and directed (by mistake) by John
Waters.
We just had to throw some form of tragedy into the night. There will be other related short films dedicated to Divine and the rest of the crew, so come on down for some cheap thrills. You might get lucky...if you know what I mean.

Mark of the Damned

Hey Folks! You can keep warm tonight with our screening of
Mark of the Damned. You won't find this on Netflix or Blockbuster yet so come on down and watch it with a fun appreciative crowd. Unfortunately the director or cast will not be in attendance, perhaps next time. We will be giving away some good fun creepy door prizes courtesy of The Chocolate Moose.
Arrive early for our lame floor show which consists of the people at the back bar trying to figure out what we're doing there or see
some rare video footage that you will not see anywhere else..not even on You Tube . Sorry suckers, no dubbing!

Cameos by Count Gore DeVol and Skizz at WPFS

Blood Boobs and Beast is a documentary about schlock director Don Dohler. He made some legendary films around the Baltimore/Washington area featuring Dick Dyzell (Count Gore DeVol). Don became a local underground legend with his film 'The Alien Factor'. It gave us midnight giggles. Tee Hee. When other directors gave us a
a worn-out tired monster, Don gave us a more freaky product that was up there with 'The Outer Limits' monster. You know, scarey, but you knew there was a guy in the monster suit. Plus our buddy old pal Skizz is in it..so there. Come on out and see some fun freaky monster stuff. We're giving away passes to the new movie,
'The Reader' starring Kate Winslet and Ralph Fiennes for this Wednesday December 17 at the AMC Loews Georgetown at 7:30pm.

All teary eyed over this years losses

I was just listening to my Lalo Schifrin movie soundtrack CD and the track for the main title of
'Cool Hand Luke' came on. A sudden sadness came over me. I've always loved Paul Newman in that role. An underdog, fighting and winning. Anyways, now that song sounds even sadder with the passing of Mr. Newman this year. In the past month we've lost:
Bettie Page
Robert Prosky
Beverly Garland
Forrest J. Ackerman
Donna Stewart-Hardaway
Odetta
Paul Benedict
Yma Sumac
Rudy Ray Moore
Great characters and people. We'll miss you.

Banned film in DC draws imaginary protestors

The WPFS will be going ahead with the screening of
'Isle of The Damned' despite protests from the
Church of the Sub-Genius and the country of Pogo-Pogo.

WPFS
president, Carl Cephas, thought about hiring The Guardian Angels of Baltimore, but declined do to so.
It should be a fun night filled with debauchery and lusty
sex scenes. The pope has demanded his own copy to see if it is fit for mass consumption. If anyone who is ill of health and or has a weak heart, a physicians note may be needed. We will not be responsible for psychotic reactions to this film that was banned in over 492 countries. Children and smalls dogs will not be allowed.
